Hyde Park
We began work on this project in 2015, helping the young family create a space to keep up with their busy lifestyle while offering a cozy retreat at the end of the day. Our Austin interior design team was thrilled to pick the project back up in 2020 to take on the next phase.
The bedroom suite, multi-purpose home office, and media room were reimagined. The challenge was to inject the client’s wish for contemporary luxury while staying true to the home’s Craftsman architecture. A custom rug in blush and black grounded the primary suite. An upholstered headboard wall and vibrant graphic drapery added layered textures in a contemporary way to create warmth. A vintage chest and playful accent rug tied the color palette together. An oversized organic soaking tub took center stage in the bathroom, while a vintage Moroccan rug and original painting pulled colors and textures from the bedroom for a united feel.
Outside, new paint colors were chosen to reflect the home’s style and neighborhood’s vernacular. It’s a subtle change but makes a dramatic difference, pulling the house into the contemporary spirit of the interior refresh.
