This remodel project began with a conversation about improving the flow of the older home. We invited opening the floor plan to increase the space visually and physically. The kitchen was transformed to include a dining room and create a greater connection to the home sewing studio. In the same layout planning process, we delivered extra pantry space – a valued accomplishment in a cottage home.
The bungalow’s original fireplace and a charming corner cabinet were left untouched. These inherited features encouraged our desires for long lasting quality design in the rest of the home. Each and every piece of furniture was selected for this home. The artistic clients welcomed custom upholstery forms making the small space all the more functional and stylish with carefully selected fabrics and materials.
A cork-covered hallway promotes the personalities of the artistic clients with their essential collection of sketches and mementos from travels. The gallery is illuminated with overhead sconces, celebrating the cork wall posts all the more.
